Cape Panwa feels like it's a zillion miles from the brashness of Patong. village life carries on at the same unhurried pace as it has for decades with the only difference being the presence of several large and classy hotels that provide employment to many of the locals. Local 'ran ahar' (restaurants) serve Muslim food at unbelievably low prices and the esplanade at Cape Panwa itself is a colourful place to be once the sun goes down.
